The Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance in Westport, Connecticut wanted to include Pontiac in this year's showing, so they went looking for the oldest example possible. They tracked down a dozen Pontiacs from the brand's inaugural year (1926). Of those, they found a 1926 two-door coach from Minnetonka, Minnesota was the oldset in the land .
Co-owned by Roy Jaszczak & his son Paul, the Series 6-27 is in good running condition and is a true "survivor"! All it's ever had done to it was a clean-up, a valve job, and replacement tires for the ones that still had a Lindbergh-era logo on them.
To honor their stewardship of the oldest Pontiac, the car will be shipped to the Concours and the Jaszczak's will be flown to New York where they'll drive the car up to Westport for the show. The Concours will pick up their tab for this trip.

GM "Puts a Bullet" in Chief Pontiac
A new era has dawned. Green-weenies rule the road in their silly golf carts & the Hi-Performance vehicle is on it's death bed, as evidenced by the execution of the Pontiac brand today.
The body of the legendary brand that brought the Muscle Car to America's highways & byways, was unceremoniously dumped by the side of the road.
Long Live the Muscle Car!!! Buy 'em while you still can! .
BTW- Here's a seldom seen photo of the Prez as a toddler, notice the old Poncho on the other side of the driveway?
Maybe he never should've left that stupid tricycle behind...

Rick Wagoner Takes One for the GM Team!
After weeks of brutal testimony in front of the idiot savants in Congress, the Obama administration has apparently decided to begin shooting the hostages!

Word around Detroit is that Wagoner has resigned today, in order to keep General Motors alive. I believe that Rick will be seen as the CEO that really did give his all to General Motors! .
Folks have to give Rick his due, he did an amazing job of expanding GM's footprint into the emerging markets in every corner of the world. Under his watch, GM is now the biggest manufacturer in China, Brazil, & we regained our lead in North America this year.
Rick got handed a raw deal by the bums in Washington & those thieving bastards in Wall Street's banking industry. Despite the chirping of clueless pundits & so-called experts, GM has been on a financial diet for the last 5-6 years. Wagner has forced GM to reduce its operating costs, its workforce, its capacity, & its overall fat. The Engineering Group that I work in used to be about 140 people, now we have 66, & we'll go down to 60 as a part of the "restructuring" for Washington. Lean & mean is the order of the day inside GM.

Singlefinger Speed Shop to Invade 2009 Detroit Autorama
After a lot of hard work, plus multiple trips to Lowes, Home Depot, the old backyard shed, the shop rafters, & even some garbage picking, the Autorama display is finally done! It looks so freakin' awesome! Many thanks to everybody that helped make this come together.
I thought everybody might like to get a sneak-peek of our new display, because once we added the proper details, the lettering, & got the lights working, it really came to life. It's so realistic that Wayne wanted to know where we found the old panels, even as he was touching them! (killer work Todd & Tom!) The attached photo was taken just before we broke it back down & put in a trailer until showtime next week.
I don't know how Martyn avoided getting captured on "film", but I've posted a few pics of everybody helping out along the way: 2009 Autorama Display
We're excited about introducing folks to our new website at this year's show. My cousin Louie has planned an Autorama Show Special for our new Black Monster T-shirts & Singlefinger ball caps.

Body by Fisher (1908-1984)
"Body by Fisher" was a term that was reserved for only the finest bodies in the land. Automobile advertising execs applied the term to the beauties in the a dealer's show room, while enthusiasts used it when referring to the lovelies they were dating.
. .
In Detroit, Michigan, on July 23, 1908, papers were filed incorporating the new Fisher Body Company. The Fisher Bros would manufacture the highest quality bodies available for the various makers of high end motorcars before they merged with the new General Motors in 1919. Under the GM banner, Fisher Body manufacturing division would continue to set many manufacturing milestones in their day. Achievements such as making the 1st complete automobile roof stamping in 1934 kept them well ahead of competitors that were still selling cars with fabric roofs.
When Fisher Body celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 1983, few knew that the division's future would be so short lived. GM Chairman Roger Smith would soon preside over a sweeping restructuring plan that would bury the acclaimed Fisher Body Coach in 1984. The familial atmosphere of the various GM divisions was put to rest when Smith merged them all into CPC & BOC, ostensibly to "create better synergy" between these divisions. It was a re-org that many GM "old-timers" still despise him for to this day.
