I bought this 1969 Buick Skylark two-door hardtop out of a swap meet in St. Cloud, Minn., and drove it to high school for at least one year, then to college for another year. The gas mileage killed me, so I sold it and bought the neighbor’s 1982 Cougar, which I regretted. The Skylark was a great car and had about 76,000 when I bought it in 1992 or 1993 and had about 100,00 miles when I sold it in 1995 or 1996.
The car had a light green body with lots of bondo underneath it, a black vinyl top and a nice dark green interior with only the driver’s seat area splitting. It had a metallic green-speckled three-spoke steering wheel, as well as a non-stock radio. Power came from the original 350-cid, 2-bbl engine with a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic. When I sold the car, it was without the 1969 Mickey Thompson torque thrust-style wheels (I put the stock wheel covers back on for the sale). I sold it to a gentleman in his 40s or 50s and then ran across it parked in an empty parking lot in Woodbury, Minn., and left a note for the owner to call me if he wanted to sell it, but my phone never rang. I’d like to know if it survived and yes, if it’s for sale again. havent seen the Buick Skylark on the gallery, but I'm looking forward to see one though, to see the car itself and some of its detailed parts like its distributor gear, rim and wheels... |
