Have you been naughty or have you been nice this year? As I have been working on our Holiday Gift Guide this year and trying to decide what to buy the wife and kids...it got me to wondering...what would I like for Christmas this year? I know, you are thinking "What the heck is he talking about? It isn't even Thanksgiving yet!" But, years ago I learned that the earlier I asked for something...the better chance I had in finding it in my stocking come Christmas morning. Especially when I have been as nice as I have been this year! Over the past year I have found a new respect for station wagons. While ideally I would like to find a '59-'60 Rambler American Wagon, since it has a better chance of not draining my wallet each time I fill the gas tank, I reall like just about any mid-'50s to early '60 wagon...as long as it has a cool roof-rack, I'd be happy to find it parked under the tree this year. If money were no object, what would you like to find under the 'ol Christmas tree this year? |

I guess that Christmas time is right around the corner...and since I am way to old to ask Santa to bring me "my two front teeth" this year, I am asking him to bring me a front bumper for a '63 Ford Falcon it appears that I may have run over poor Ruldoph last year and in the process bent my bumper. Fortounately I am rather mean-spirited and callous, so I didn't bother to back up and see if it was actually Rudolph that I hit...so I avoided bending up my back bumper of damaging a tire if I accidently ran over his carcass again. Please don't tell Santa about the little deer-mishap, I wouldn't want to end up on the naughty list this year again. |

I promise to keep your secret Otis. I wouldn't want you to get coal in your stocking this year...but running over Rudolph, that's harsh! Anyway, since you say that money is "no object" I would like the 1933 Duesenberg SJ Boattail Speedster that is currently being offered on ebay. It has a "Buy it Now" price of a mere $2.6 million. It ain't a Ford, but is sure is nice to look at.
You can click HERE to start bidding if you want to buy it for me.

I want to find me something like this for Christmas (the car for all of you out there with the dirty minds! I'm a happily married guy!) I have always wanted to build a completely rodded-out ride that would be completely different than anything else out there on the road. Low down and mean in appearance with a big flattie under the hood (if I even kept the hood!). While I know that a lot of old car guys aren't too happy to see cars chopped and rodded, I would gladly use a solid junk-yard find for my build so that I wouldn't wreck a perfectly good car (maybe I could find one of those "Wreck of the Week" cars that they always post in the Old Cars Weekly magazine!). Anyway, if Santa could just drop a nice body similar to the one in the photo above under the tree for me this year that would be great. I would love to be able to strip it down and start tearing into it (a car body you pervs!).

Maybe I was on Santa's "Naughty List" and simply didn't realize it again this year. But, I didn't get a single piece of vintage iron this year in my stocking or under the Christmas tree. So, how about making me feel better and tell me what great gifts YOU got this year? Come on, don't be shy... |
