I am trying do determine the value of a car with very little info. the car is a 1968 dodge charger. it has a 383 engine with a 4 barr carb. the body is fairly intact but needs some restoration. the vinal roof is peeling in places. the interior will need to be completely redone. it needs new floor boards aswell as trunk repaired due to holes in bottom. the frame in the rear needs to be welded and repaired no other info is known about the frame regarding the front end. on the plus side it was all its windows and doesn't seem to leak in the rain. i know this isn't much to make an accurate estimate on value, but can you give me an idea on what it may be worth?

If you get many posts, i expect they will be quite diverse. The simplest answer is "whatever someone will pay for it".  Along those lines then, it depends on what you want to do with the car. Do you get pleasure out of rebuilding old cars? Do you like to venture into areas you may not be familiar with? If so, you can determine how much enjoyment awaits you as you encounter, and then repair major rust and structural problems. You will learn a lot about rust removal, especially how to use cut off wheels, plasma cutters, mig welders, etc. If you are already set up for this then it should be fun, and you will already have an idea of the labor and costs involved. Do you plan to search for donor parts, or buy repopped metal if available? Sometimes the search for parts is extremely rewarding in itself! And as i'm sure you know, body work and rust repair is usually the most expensive part of restoration, the mechanical stuff is actually straightforward and more reasonable (assuming you can do most of it yourself). And finally, don't expect to recoup  your expenses if you sell your completed project. So, determine what the car is worth to you, after you determine the value of the enjoyment you will get repairing and driving it! BTW, these projects can be A LOT of FUN!

The cost of the restoration of the Dodge charger is too much, it's best to have it done for yourself, there are some DIY tips in restoring the car, from its doors, paint jobs to replacing some dodge charger parts such as vinal roofs and floor boards. Also, buying them on car parts shops online or near your area is more cheaper... What's also good about doing the restoration by yourself is that you can customize it in your own liking... and its fun doing something for yourself. :D
