"Old Stinkers" Ever notice that old car exhaust really stinks compared to newer cars. That's because newer cars have a catalytic converter to de-stink the exhaust. I put a universal catalytic converter on my 1970 chevy van, 6 cylinder 250 cu. The stink is gone. BUT, WILL THIS CAUSE BACKPRESSURE IN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM? WILL IT BECOME A PROBLEM? If you know of anyone who has tried this let me know. Thanks Mike

Everyone I know who has altered their vehicle in regards to the catalytic converter (catastrophic perverter, as my uncle calls them - he's not a fan) has torn it off a car that should have one, not installed one on a vehicle that didn't originally have one. I can only guess that adding a catalytic convertor to a vehicle that was not designed for one will negatively affect its performance. In regards to back pressure, well, I'll leave that to someone else.
