Hey guys,
A buddy of mine is breaking in a new flattie - and go figure, he don't wanna mess it up! He has been told to use a zinc additive so as not to flatten the cam. Can anyone recommend a type and grade of oil? has anyone had experience with the additive? oh yes, 2000 RPM for 20 minutes? Any other related advice would be helpful! Thanks |

I will be rebuilding an engine soon with the same fears about cam flattening. I have a product called Cam-Shield Oil Treatment just for breaking in an engine, and I plan to try it this coming spring. You can get it at www.cam-shield.com. I haven't tried it yet so I can't verify its results.
