I rec'd this question from a reader, but none of my references were of any help. Can one of you help? His question is below.Angelo
I need your help, did the 1941 Chevrolet pickup have a butterfly fold hood or did only the side panel have hinges, or were the side panels fixed and the hood hinged at the rear? When I build model cars I build out of the box but I correct details and open doors, trunks, hoods, and tailgates, it is a quirk of mine. When I was a teenager I was stationed at Long Beach Navel Station for extra money I worked for a landscaper He had a ’41 Chevy pickup but I’ll be darned if I can remember how the hood opened on that old beast. I guess I blocked it out because my daily driver was an in progress 1956 F-100 street rod, Oh don’t worry if it wasn’t a Ford part it did not get installed on what I believe to be the most beautiful Ford I have ever owned |

Aren't the 41 to 46 all the same? I have a 41 or 42 Chevy or GMC. ( Is was build from spare parts from all these cars). It hinges in the middle and on the sides like a model A Ford. I know because I got hit in the head trying to read the engine number. I can send pictures if the reader would like some. There is a small bit of trim in the front center that stays in place when the hood is lifted from either side.Jim
