    Hi rich,

Thanks for the friend invite. That doubles my friends :)

I love your old Dodge and Plymouth. My first car at age 16 was a 1953 Chrysler Windsor deluxe. It had the flathead six with the M-6 (I think) automatick with a clutch. My dad bought me the car figuring it would be slow and safe. And it was...until I discovered the 2 speeds in low gear! Revving it up and popping the clutch would result in 2 wheels burning rubber for about 10 feet. Power shifting it ( with the clutch) into low second produced a chirp. but after low second it was done. You had to lift off the gas to let it shift to high. But that car started me on drag racing. It was deadly in the eigth mile against flathead fords with fordamatics, and 49 to 54 chevys with powerglides. It was undefeated until it met its untimely death at an interesection, death by 1955 Plymouth! Boy that car was fun, and what a sleeper!

I used to drive a 49 Plymouth like your Dodge. When I went up hill the widshield wipers would stop (vacuum) and downhill they would fly.

I'm working on a 65 VW now. Looks a lot like yours.
