    Talk about Trunk Space!

Monday, November 10, 2008, 03:12 PM CST [General]

    Hello,

I simply couldn't let "Otis" be the only one on the OldCarsWeekly.com Community site with a funny story. I have no idea where he comes up with his stories, but I absolutely love them!

Anyway, I ran across the following story today and thought that I would share it with all of you.

I know that most cars these days don't have much to offer when it comes to trunk space, but this article proves that you can still cram an awful lot into a modern car. I have posted a photo of a car like the one mentioned in the article so you can see how cramed it really was.

Back when I was younger I can almost imagine people being able to cram a couple of pigs into the trunk of something like a 50s Packard, but 12 squealing, filthy pigs into a modern car?

    Mmmmm...Smells Like Bacon!

    I hope you enjoy,

Thieves caught in Hungary with 12 pigs in car

BUDAPEST (Reuters) – Two thieves were caught in southern Hungary with 12 pigs stuffed in their small van during a routine traffic check, Hungarian police said on Thursday.

Police stopped two men in a Renault Kangoo near the town of Szigetvar, about 220 km (137 miles) south of Budapest, as they attempted to drive off.

"The pigs weighed about 25-30 kg (55-66 lb) each -- they were really squashed into the car very tightly," a spokesman said.

Police said the pigs came from a nearby farm, where 35 pigs have gone missing in recent days. (Reporting by Krisztina Than; Editing by Catherine Bosley)

$22k in parts stolen from dealers at Fall Carlisle

Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 09:51 AM CST [General]

I sure hate it when a couple of knuckleheads mess up a really good thing.

When I read the article below it just made me sick.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem at shows?

I have always been lucky myself and have never had more than a hub-cap stolen out of my booth.

Thieves stole more than $22,000 worth of items from two classic car parts dealers Thursday or Friday during the fall Carlisle Events car show at the Carlisle Fairgrounds, Carlisle police said.

They said 1960s Camaro consoles and gauges were stolen from a Chevrolet parts vendor and a Pontiac GTO grilles and headlight bezels, a carburetor, a Firebird bumper and a suspension were taken from another vendor.
