I have been an OCW subscriber only a short time, but I haven't seen anything on early '60's Pontiacs.  I would like to connect with other gearheads that like and/or own them.  I go to cruise-ins and shows in the N. & central Georgia, SE Tennessee, Central AL areas, & I don't see many early '60's big Pontiacs (lots of GTO's, but not big cars).  Occasionally a GP.

I have a '63 Catalina 2 dr. HT w/bench seat that has a 389 mill, 3 X 2's & factory 4-speed.  It has a factory tach.

Is no one restoring these cars?  In all the cruise-ins & shows I go to, I have not seen another car like mine... not even close.  And does that mean that it's worth nothing?  Or does that make it MORE valuable?  I know it's valuable to me.

I have restored this car to be exactly like the car I had when I met my wife in 1964.  I had to sell it to get married.  And I've been married to the girl now for 42 yrs.  I've never regretted marrying, but I've always regretted selling the car.  I did all I could to try to find my original car, but was not able to... probably wrecked or junked or both!  It was really a fast car, & I know some idiot kid -- like myself -- probably drove it into a tree, or blew the engine at 7000 or 7500 rpm's.

I looked for 5 yrs before finding a 4-speed car that I could put back like my original car was.  And it took saving a lot of $ & borrowing even more to get it finished.  But it is a jewel.  Because there're not any more like it around, it tends to be an attractation at the area cruise-ins.  Nobody can believe it's a factory tri-power & factory 4-speed.  But it is!

I love it!  I just wish gas prices weren't getting high.  The mileage is not that great -- esp. when I kick in the front & rear carbs.

Anyway, let me hear from some other Tin Indian enthusiasts!  And would like to see pictures of more!
