    Symco Shakedown August 7, 2009

    Friday, August 7, 2009, 06:46 PM [General]

The highlight of my day at the Shakedown was being next to a '49 Buick Super once owned by the Late Reggie White: former Packer great & NFL Hall Of Famer. Tom, the gentleman who restored Reggie's cars, is the owner of this beauty. He's the one getting out of the car. Note the vanity plates! This version, the Sedanet, is noted as a version of the '49 Roadmaster, but I couldn't find documentation that it was made in any numbers in the Super or Special models. There were over 136,000 '49 Specials made. How many of them were Super Sedanet models I do not know.

    Travels

    Monday, July 27, 2009, 06:45 PM [General]

Got these 4 cars during travels around town..and to Pearl City, IL. The 'vette was shot in Pearl City, IL at a wedding reception. The Buick, Chevy & Chevelle during a bike ride to the North end of town. The owner of the Chevelle was nice enough to let me look under the hood. All original w/ updated air ram & valve covers. NICE!

Iola Day 4 for me: Saturday

    Saturday, July 11, 2009, 10:08 PM [General]

Always hoped to see one & never thought I would...until I'm driving home and there it is: a '72 Green Plymouth Valiant. This was my 1st EVER car I drove. I even took my driver's test in one. What a treat...and what memories I have of that little box of a car.
